Income
Record money coming in from outside your portfolio — salary, side income, pensions, Social Security. Dividends and interest don't go here; the app derives those from your accounts automatically.
What you see
Incomes are grouped by type with a yearly or monthly total at the top. Income generated by an asset (like rent) appears in its own "Asset-Generated Income" section, and incomes that haven't started yet or have already ended collapse into "Future" and "Past" sections outside the current-year total.

Adding an income
- Income Type— salary, bonus, freelance, pension, Social Security, rental, and more. Types apply smart timing defaults: pensions and Social Security default to starting at the owner's retirement event, so double-check the auto-filled dates.
- Amount adjusts with inflation — check for income that grows over time (a salary with raises); uncheck for fixed payments (a fixed pension).
- Self-employed income — flags the income for self-employment tax treatment.
- Start / End— a specific month and year or a life event ("salary ends at Retirement"). Anchoring to events keeps your plan consistent when dates change.

Good to know
- Investment income is automatic — adding dividends here would double-count them.
- Asset-generated income is managed from the linked asset; edit the asset to change it.
- If an income you added seems missing, check the collapsed "Future" and "Past" sections — items sort by their dates relative to this year.
