Assets

Tangible property you own — your home, rental properties, vehicles, land, collectables. Assets add to your net worth, grow (or depreciate) over time, and can carry linked loans and income.

What you see

Assets are grouped by type with a total value at the top. Each card shows the asset's liquidity, its growth rate (e.g. "+3%/yr" for a home, negative for a car), and its estimated value.

Adding an asset

  • Basics — type, name, estimated value, liquidity, and owner.
  • Financing — link an existing debt or create the loan right here (a Real Estate asset creates a Mortgage, a Vehicle creates a Car Loan). The debt then shows up on the Debts page, linked back to this asset.
  • Income— attach income the asset generates, like rent. It appears on the Income page under "Asset-Generated Income".
  • Advanced Options— override the default growth rate and variance for this asset, or exclude it from net worth entirely. Leaving the growth rate blank means "use the default for this asset type", not zero.

Good to know

  • Cash, brokerage, and retirement accounts don't go here — those belong on the Accounts page.
  • Debts and incomes attached to an asset are managed from the asset — the Debts and Income pages mark them as linked.
  • Deleting an asset detaches (but doesn't delete) its linked debts and incomes.
